There are millions of people who suffer from various allergies on a daily basis and most of these people are likely to realize that they are affected by such a condition only when their symptoms become truly severe. Once you know that you are suffering from a particular type of allergy, you will have to do everything you can in order to reduce the number of outbreaks that you may experience. Finding an efficient allergen reducer is paramount in order to guarantee that you are going to suffer from fewer allergy outbreaks. However, typical allergy causes such as pollen, animal dander or foods are not the only causes that can trigger an allergic reaction. There are some unexpected allergy causes that can make symptoms flare up. Here is the list with the lesser known allergy causes that you should watch for in case that you are experiencing allergic reactions. Scented candles may become an allergen due to their odors that can inflame the nasal cavities – if you suffer from an allergy to scented candles, you will experience watery eyes and runny nose once you find yourself near a burning scented candle. Once you start developing such allergic symptoms, you will have to move away from the candle and get some fresh air in order to alleviate your condition. Detergents and soaps are among the less known allergens and this happens due to their perfume additives. In order to get rid of the itching you experience when using your cleaning agents, you should look for unscented, no additives or phthalate free products. Stuffed animals can become a real allergen too due to the dust mites that accumulate inside them. So, you should try washing your stuffed animals, drying them and have this process repeated on a monthly basis when dealing with favorite toys. If the toys you have cannot be washed, you should place them in plastic bags and keep them in the freezer for a couple of hours in order to kill all the accumulated mites. Spices can also become allergy triggers as they cause you burning and itching in your lips and swelling of your nasal passages. For instance, you should try and avoid troublesome spices that include dill, paprika, poppy seeds, pepper, coriander, saffron and cumin. Once you cannot be sure which spice is to be blamed for your allergic reaction, you may try writing down every spice you eat each time you experience an allergic reaction in order to find the culprit. Wall paint can also be blamed for some of the allergies people experience due to the synthetic resins and solvents that can cause headaches and itchy eyes. Wall paints that are oil based are likely to be the most troublesome ones as they will continue to release various chemicals after they dry. So, you should make sure that you keep your windows open while working in order to get the fresh air you need. Make sure that fresh air circulates in that particular space for at least 3 or 4 weeks after you have finished the work. Also, you should go for paints that have a lower level of VOC as they are more likely to send fewer harmful chemicals in the air.
