Some of Those Strange Symptoms You Have May Come From Hidden Allergies
Hidden AllergiesThe very mention of the word "allergies" brings up images of some obvious symptoms that may people suffer with.  When someone says, "I have allergies today", that usually means sniffling, stuffy sinuses, headaches and the typical symptoms of hay fever or some other kind of sinus related allergy problem.  But when you take into consideration the wide diversity of kinds of allergies and the tremendous variety of how those allergies might evidence themselves in different symptoms, there is a good chance you may be suffering with one or more hidden allergies and not even know it.

Probably the most common hidden allergy problems come from food allergies.  Because it is easy to associate gastric discomfort that may be a hidden allergy with indigestion or a food intolerance, you could be allergic to a specific food group and never know it.  There are also hidden allergy symptoms that you don’t ordinarily associate with the allergen.

A common reaction to a food allergy is a rash such as hives, which is usually assumed to be caused by a topical irritation.  Even if you suspect the rash to be an allergic reaction, the real cause of the problem in your diet keeps this hidden allergy a mystery to you.  And with any mysterious hidden allergy symptom, until you know for certain what is causing the problem, you cannot move forward with eliminating the allergen from your life and getting relief.

Other hidden allergy symptoms that could be causes by a food allergen would be difficulty with your bowels or bouts of fatigue and depression.  Because you would not naturally associate these kinds of symptoms with food allergies, those symptoms remain difficult to deal with because the hidden allergy must be addressed before the problems can be resolved.

When the symptoms of allergies to food are relatively insignificant, the problem can remain a hidden allergy because you just brush it off as something minor.  We all get little aches and pains or digestive problems that we dismiss and that kind of approach can keep a hidden allergy hidden for a long time.  But in many cases small hidden allergy symptoms do not remain small.  And if that food allergy begins to escalate into more severe digestive difficulties, problems breathing or even hidden allergy symptoms that could become dangerous or life threatening, suddenly simple hidden allergy problems become a hidden life threatening illness.

The specter of a potentially serious health issue that is residing in a hidden allergy is reason enough to take any potential allergy symptom seriously.  By discussing it with your doctor, he or she may be the one to raise the alarm and ask you to be tested for a hidden allergy.  It will be a tremendous relief to you if the allergist gets to the bottom of that repeated health issue by pinpointing a hidden allergy that can be resolved.  By identifying the food you are allergic to or the real cause of the hidden allergy, you can avoid that allergen and eliminate those symptoms once and for all.

Living a more comfortable life where you don’t let hidden allergies stay hidden is reason enough to have yourself tested if you suspect the problem.  But because you took the action and are aware of your allergic condition, you know for certain that a hidden allergy cannot suddenly become a severe health problem.  That is one more health related issue that you don’t have to worry about.  The sense of relief and peace of mind is worth the effort of making any hidden allergy come out in the open and stay that way.
