The Relationship Between Allergy Asthma Symptoms and Vitamin D
Allergy Asthma SymptomsAllergy asthma symptoms and the many miserable ways that this health problem surfaces plaques a huge percentage of the population.  If you are one of the many people who suffer with symptoms of asthma, you know how urgent you are about finding relief from allergy asthma symptoms that can virtually stop you from what you are doing and ruin your day. That is why recent studies into the relationship between allergy asthma symptoms and vitamin D are so encouraging.

Much of the research into whether vitamin D might hold the key to a "cure" to allergy asthma symptoms was reported by Dr. Daniel Searing in the Journal of Allergy & Clinical Immunology.  It has been found that if a child is tested to have a deficiency of vitamin D in his or her system, that can have a profound effect on the functioning of the lower lungs. Increasing the levels of vitamin D into the diet of the test subjects showed that they had a much greater ability to recover from allergy asthma symptoms.

But the research was even more revealing about how much vitamin can do to help children who are fighting asthma problems.  The test subjects showed that after an increase in their levels of vitamin D usage, their bodies exhibited higher corticosteroids activity level.  Corticosteroids are a key medication that is used in all allergy asthma symptom medicines. So in effect increasing the levels of vitamin D in children is a natural way to generate and stimulate the very chemical that is used in medications given to asthma sufferers to fight the allergy asthmas symptoms that come upon them.

Dr. Searing's findings were convincing that the level of vitamin D in the system had a direct impact on how well children deal with their asthma problems. Those young people with lower vitamin D levels were notably more prone to allergy asthma symptoms than others in the control group of the study who had higher levels of vitamin D in their systems.

In a scientific setting, these findings are generating a lot of interest and further study as well. As scientists, they have a need to find out not just the fact that vitamin D seems to have such a powerful effect on relieving the problems of allergy asthma systems.  Scientists need to know why and how much vitamin D has the effect and how it relates to different age groups and other measurements as well.

But for parents of children who struggle every day with their allergy asthma symptoms, this is very exciting news without the additional research.  It is good news because you don’t need a prescription or any special equipment to increase the level of vitamin D in the diet of your child.  You can change the family diet so everyone gets more vitamin D or you can supplement the diet of the child who has allergy asthma symptom problems with vitamin D vitamin pills.

You cannot overdose a child on vitamins. They are inexpensive and good for your child and for everyone in the family even if your "experiment" in fighting allergy asthma symptoms yields no improvement.  But these findings that are coming out from professionals in the field of allergy research tell us that the simple act of increasing vitamin D in the diet can have a tremendous influence on improving your son or daughters' ability to fight back against the curse of asthma. It certainly is worth a try.
