How to Fight Back Against Allergies the Natural Way
Natural Cures for AllergiesEven though we do not look on allergies as a disease, they are.  Your immune system is trying to fight something off and it is failing. Just like a cold or cancer, our body has reacted to something that is hurting it.

Whether it is a food allergy or an allergic reaction to pollen or dust, it is a disease that is hurting us.  The best way to combat any kind of disease is to build up your immune system. Building up your immune system is simple and you can do it easily and naturally, not by just taking medicines or getting shots, but by taking simple easy steps to change your life and attitude.

Some easy ways to jump-start your immune system working at its best again are…

  •  Eat healthy foods, like vegetables, fruits, and nuts.  Follow food pyramid guidelines. Do not eat too much junk food or food full of grease, fat, preservatives or unnatural ingredients.
  • Get a daily dose of sun exposure. Human beings need sunlight.  You also need fresh air. Even if all you do is to go outside to read a book or to take the kids to the park, it will make you feel better.
  • Also, be sure to exercise at least thirty minutes a day. Make it something you enjoy like dancing, riding a bike, hiking, rollerblading, even gardening.  Another fun type of exercise is to chase your dogs or kids around.  Its good for you, the dogs and the kids.  Living an active lifestyle makes you stronger from the inside out.
  • Make sure you always consult with your physician before starting any new exercise routine, though.  Your doctor will let you know if your body can handle any stressful new exercise programs or if you may need to hold off on some forms of exercise in the best interest of your health.  Also, be in contact with your doctor as often as possible if trying a new regime for helping with allergies.  Do not be afraid to ask questions about dealing with allergies.  Your doctor will be more than happy to help.  That is his or her job, after all.
  • Cut back on your alcohol intake.  A drink every once in a while is fine.  But if you are out drinking several beers every night, you are not doing yourself any favors.  Cut it back, your body will thank you and you will make your immune system stronger so it can properly handle potential allergy problems.
  • If you have been prescribed an allergy medication, make sure you are taking it per the prescribed schedule.  If you wish to go off of it, consult with your doctor first.  Do not simply cease taking the medicine.
  • Vaccinations are helpful.  So if you do feel you need that added boost, then be sure to get them.  This is especially true if you are pregnant, elderly, or for your children.  Immune systems for these groups are either much weaker or are already under a lot of stress and need the extra help.
Finally, and most importantly, remember to think positively.  If you are always upset, angry, depressed, or stressed, your immune system will not be very strong against attack.  The key is to be a peace and be calm.  Perhaps if this is a major problem for you, you could try meditation or yoga, both help with bringing calm and peace into your mind.

You will be amazed how much a little mood management combined with a healthy lifestyle will empower your immune system to keep allergies at bay and those troublesome allergy symptoms out of your life.
